WORX WR-150 No word saled review

Setup must do: lay down included perimeter wire and use included stakes every 3 feet,10 inches from walls walks and gardens. Do this well thought out or else you will regret doing it sloppy. The perimeter wire is a radio transmission to the robot 🤖 so it can learn your yard and cut maintain and create zones using the software application. The robot 🤖 runs a lot to cut your grass different then a push or propelled mower. Over a few days of mowing it will transform your lawn into looking it's best allowing growth and uniformity without the old fashioned methods of traditional mowers. Get used to it and let it alone to show you it will and can cut your grass .You have 5 height settings. Most lawns use #3 setting. Start there and adjust up or down only after a week of using if necessary.Yes it can take the rain and stay outside even cut your grass at night as you can create schedule📅.Yes someone can steal your robot 🤖 if they have a mind too. My yard is fenced in the backyard and my robot 🤖 lives there and I bring it inside my garage at night. IMO it's stupid to not bring it inside your shed or garage at night. Remember a criminal will pull the battery out and all security alarms gps etc will lose all power.Remember your robot 🤖 is like a new puppy 🐶 that you must train the way it understands. You might read that over to yourself until that sticks in your brain if your brain is full if Teflon. The application is wonderful and the company can communicate over the internet directly to your robot 🤖 for updates without you having to do jumping Jack's so call support if your having problems. All in all I am delighted with my purchase and so will you be.

The best tool I have ever owned!

When I got this mower I thought it was a fail since it did not work properly, when WORX repaired it I thought it was good and now after a summer of mowing I think it is GREAT – the best tool I have ever owned.I wanted to wait until I had fully tested this mower before I left my review. I bought my WORX WR150 Landroid Robotic Lawn Mower in October of 2020. Since I live in Colorado, I had to immediately break open the box and begin putting down the perimeter wire to test the mower before the snow started to fly. Unfortunately, after staking out the entire yard the Landroid did not work. It continuously threw an error indicating that it had been picked up. I even took video of the Landroid on my perfectly flat and pre-mowed and raked yard just refusing to work. After a long call with the Worx team including reverting my software to a less sensitive previous version to no avail, WORX decided I had to send it to them for repairs. By the time I got it back it had already snowed a few times and all I could do was start the Landroid and determine it ran continuously without error, so I was hopeful for spring, but into the garage it went.Fast forward to May 2021 and ‘Larry' the Landroid is back in action.I'm going to break my review into sections to help others with similar issues. My yard – I probably have the ideal yard for this type of mower to be fair. I have a 7,000 square foot, perfectly flat rectangular lot upon which sits my house, garage and two sheds. The ½ acre WORX WR150 Landroid I purchased is more than adequate for this application. My yard has trees, however I did not bother to circle those trees with the wire since the mower only taps them lightly, for the smallest of trees I have hammered rebar around the trees so that the mower taps that first before changing course. I have Kentucky bluegrass which is a very fine blade grass species and this easy for the mower to get through. Typically, small tree bits and leaves don't seem to bother the mower at all.Setup - Let's start with the setup. I would suggest not rushing through the planning, charger placement and wire installation phase. The charging pad – I believe the instructions say to leave space in front of and behind the charging pad, however you really need it to be clear on all three of the sides that face the inside of your yard. My mower navigates back to the pad flawlessly however when charged the first thing it tends to do is not drive straight forward but make an immediate 90 degree turn and thus bumps into the ladder garden I have it installed under (see photo). A better option would have been for me to simply build a little roof under which the Landroid could get out of the weather. The perimeter wire - The wire is going to be your weakest link in the entire system; fortunately Worx did not flavor the wire with rabbit or squirrel chow like all of my other outdoor wiring seems to have been (soy based wire coating) so to my surprise my wiring was 100% intact this spring. In fact, since I put it down in the fall after a good mowing and onto dormant grass, I find it very difficult to even find the wire in most areas now.Pay close attention to all instructions, including the distance from objects and the inside and outside corner instructions as well as how to secure the wire to the ground. If I had it all to do over again, I would have given the Landroid a bit more space on the inside corners in particular. As I have a fence, when the Landroid makes its cleanup lap and comes to an inside corner if even the grass under the fence has built up the mower will sense an obstruction and back up. Since this is an inside corner it immediately hits the fence behind it and struggles. Ultimately it will figure it out but not without effort. My observation is this, you will likely need to weed eat every now and again so what is an extra inch or so of weed eating? Give the Landroid a little more room.Obstacles – again, I have my Landroid mow under a stair landing and when it is following the wire it does so flawlessly, however when it is mowing it comes at the perimeter from a 90 degree angle and always struggles to free itself (see photo). Again, hindsight being 20/20 I would have just had the Landroid stay out from under the landing. Also pay close attention to obstacles that may exist above the perimeter wire. Unfortunately, as my mower performs its clean up lap by following the wire it goes under a Lilac bush that has a branch that is just low enough to grab the back wheel of the mower and make it hiccup a bit on its way home. Again, it navigates this perfectly well, but I did not think about low hanging branches when I strung the perimeter wire. Keep in mind the real wheel of the Landroid is ~9.5” high so anything that overhangs your yard by less than this height will eventually catch your Landroid. I have not had this mower through a fall season where I expect leaves may affect it's performance however a good raking should be enough to mow until the s...

Works well.

We have had other more (much more) expensive units. For about half that we got two of these guys with ACS eyes. Only once in the past month or so have we had an error and it alerts you so you can fix it. Blade system works well and nice to know battery is easily replaced if needed.

It Actually Works

I was very skeptical going in that a robot could do a good job mowing my lawn. I ordered thinking it would be mediocre at best, considering I have a half acre lawn with landscaping, elevation changes, and neighbors to my left and right who mow regularly. I must say that I am blown away by how well this does. My lawn is always better maintained and shorter than my neighbors. They are now asking a lot of questions because they see me smoking cigars while they mow their lawn... and it still isn't as well maintained as mine by the next morning. All that said, it's important you know some things going in, though. Running the border wire is a pain in the butt. It took me about four hours to complete a half acre. My legs hurt when I was done for a week. After all that, it took another several days after of adjusting to keep it from getting stuck or trapped. The Landroid will likely get stuck and need rescued a lot early on. It's best if you are close by the first couple of days so you can identify the issue and move the boundary wire. All the issues I encountered were due to the wire being too close to a wall or landscaping feature. Once moved, it was good. You will want extra stakes or to bury the wire. If the wire sticks up at all, you run the risk of it getting cut by the Landroid. The Landroid will not work with a cut boundary wire so you will need to splice it back together. Worx includes boundary wire, but if you need more you can order another 500ft of 16 gauge electric dog collar wire for much cheaper and it works great. If you like flying under the radar, wait before mainstream adoption before buying this. People in my neighborhood have been blown away watching this thing mow. Many didn't even know something like this exists and, like me, they cannot believe it works. Neighbors are constantly stopping to ask us questions about it. My next door neighbors have been taking video of it. It does not mow in lines. It has an algorithm that figures out how to mow to keep the grass maintained at the length you choose. You will have no lines in your lawn apart from maybe the edging. When it is running low on battery it goes back to its charging station to charge all by itself. Having said all that, a few weeks in this is already one of my favorite purchases of all time. It's saving me an hour every week and costs me nothing in gas. If it dies after it's three year warranty period, I will buy another if it continues to work as it does now.

Great option if you have a well maintained yard.

If you take your time and set the boundary wire up properly you will enjoy this mower. Also, if you have a decent lawn it will work well. You can't have holes or debris in your lawn. I had this set up in a .18 acre section of my yard in about 3 hours. Surprisingly I had just enough wire and just enough stakes even after going around four large mulch beds in the middle. I decided to leave space on one side of my yard to drive vehicles through until I finish major projects in the back yard. I've been running this landroid as much as possible before the 30 return period is up, but at this point I have 89 hours of runtime on and 56 miles on it so I'm confident that I won't have to return it. The only issue I've had so far is not the mowers fault. My contractor had a saw and other tools set up on top of the boundary wire and a few hours later the mower cut its own boundary wire. The grass hasn't had a chance to grow over the wire yet so I used a shovel and created a slit in the ground for it there since it will be a high traffic area. The mower got stuck in an area that I recently dug up a stump so I filled it in and leveled it out. I'm slowly leveling my yard with a mix of sand, topsoil, and fill dirt. Now that I have more free time, I'm leveling the yard out for the mower to better operate.

Great robot mower

Great mower that makes life easier. It's a task to set up but it's well worth it afterwards. Maybe once a week it gets stuck. That's a 30 second fix.

You need this!

Absolutely love this mower! Does what it's supposed to, so easy and putting out the wire was easy too. I'd send a pic but I don't know how.

It mows your freaking lawn, but requires patience

Okay so I'm that guy who researches something for months before pulling the trigger and here we landed on the Landroid L for its many years of consistent service and overall positive reviews. Let me summarize it all by first saying this: IT MOWS YOUR LAWN. YES. IT WORX. not to mention it is strengthening my grass significantly by applying fertilizer trimming basically every day. Now if your lawn is flush, relatively flat and mostly free of obstacles, this thing is going to do awesome and be 5 times easier than it is for me. My lawn, however, is half an acre split into three zones with slopes in one zone, trenches in another, and a runoff sloped curve that connects to my neighborhood street. All of these things create lots of headaches for my little guy. After taking 4 hours to navigate my lawn with the boundary wire I'm left with this. He gets himself stuck at least one, but more like two times every time he runs. I have had to pull up the boundary wire in multiple areas to reset it farther back to avoid the obstacle. I bought the ACS attachment but feel it doesn't make enough of a difference to justify the price. However I may be wrong so I am keeping it. It will take time for my unit to be completely hands off as I have to keep fine tuning his area. Will I return it? Well, in case you missed anything before, **** NO. IT MOWS MY FREAKING LAWN FOR ME. And let me tell you, my lawn is a female dog to mow. The unit is genius and the engineers and people at Worx are very proud of their unit so they love to help out. If you have an easier yard than mine, this thing is gonna change your life. And if your yard is like mine, just be patient. Be willing to fine tune the boundary wire and keep trying things until you get it right.
