Not a problem for one person to remove large safe from a basement.

I was skeptical that this would be able to lift a larger safe up the steps of a basement but it could move as fast as I could walk and had plenty of power. The one thing I would change/add, would be a longer strap for larger items. The strap would be plenty long enough to secure normal appliances though.

Instructions are minimal - Functionality is good but could be improved

Four star rating because of two moderate issues and two minor issues.Let's start with the good. I was able to make several trips up AND down with decent sized items (50 - 100lbs+) with good control and minimal discomfort. While I have seen videos of folks riding these up themselves, I have not tried that (I suspect it's strongly discouraged) but have no doubt it could handle it. A single charge will let you make a lot of trips, and as long as you have a decent amount of room at the bottom and top of the stairs, you will have very few problems with maneuverability. For the moderate issues, these both involve the base. It is not a solid, flat base, and so items even when buckled in may shift slightly as you are climbing and turning. It would be nice if they offered an add-on base that could be locked in place for more typical loads. The other issue with the base is that the bars that let it fold up and lock down have a bit of "play" in them, and so while folding down and locking the base is relatively easy, folding them back up often involves a bit of "jiggling" the base around while holding the locking mechanism out of the way.The minor issues deal with the battery. This is using a slightly older Li-On technology that will give you only about 300 charges before it starts to lose capacity. For home use that's probably ok, but if you were using frequently it could be a concern. The other issue is that the charging is done by disconnecting the battery from the cable that feeds energy to the lift, and plugging the charger in the same port. That increases wear, as well as requires a fairly hefty charging block that does not show the percent charged. You can check that on the battery itself - when the cable is attached - which means not when you're still charging.Overall it does what is needed, and does it relatively well. It just would be easier to recommend if it did just a few other things better.

                            Back Saver!

I’m in the process of a move and I’ve gotten done in one day what I’ve been doing for the last three months! Handles stairs like a breeze. Now all my boxes can go in one centralized location and I can get this house staged and ready to put on the market. I’m so glad I found this handtruck. Now I just hope it holds up long enough to get me into the new house and years to come. Will update.

This machine is a real problem solver

Getting heavy things up and down stairs is now a breeze! I mostly use this to move pinball machines up my straight-shot, 19-step wooden staircase to my upstairs game room. This machine does not harm the finished wooden steps, which is important. I cannot believe that I can now safely move these 250+ pound pinball machines up and down the stairs by myself! This machine has an extension handle that goes up very far so that you can grab it cleanly above the load, and you can easily increase the angle of the stair climbing treads to make the move comfortable. The battery is very strong and lasts a good while - I've used it several times and it still shows fully charged. Since pinball machines are pretty wide around, the only thing that I would ask improvement on is the seatbelt length - it is long enough to secure many items I'm sure, but not quite long enough for a pinball machine (even fully extended). To get overcome this, I just use a tie down strap instead. In summary, this was a great purchase that will continue to serve me well for many years!

                            Very strong - be careful

I use the handcart to move pellet stoves up and down stairs. I’ve had a 350lb stove on the lift and it handled it with ease. Be sure to have the tracks set to the max recline. As soon as the weight shifts forward, there’s no way you can stop it from timing down hill. I tried lifting a heavy stove up stairs without the track at the lowest decline. As soon as I got up the first step the stove tilted away from me. I held onto the grab bar and it threw me over the stove and into the yard. The lift is very, very strong and it’s easy to use and holds a charge for a long time. Wet wooden stairs can be very slippery. The sharper the edge on the stair, the better. I can also use the tracks when leaned back to move on flat ground as well under power.
