[10x13FT] Premium Outdoor Patio Retractable Pergola With Canopy (97201864)

We purchased this pergola for shade on our patio. We chose this versus a large patio umbrella as it seemed it would provide a larger shaded area.First, customer service is fantastic. I had so many questions about different models before I purchased and right away they were responsive and super helpful. I'd highly recommend this company just based on how helpful customer service is.We did get the 10 x 13 pergola with the protective cover for the fabric. We love it so much. We got it for shade, but honestly, it adds so much to the patio. I was surprised how wonderful it made a simple area look.It was easy enough to put together. It was packaged really well, so nothing was damaged during delivery. Everything was great and perfect. We had one issue with the closing hooks for the fabric - but I contacted customer service and new ones were sent right out.I'd highly recommend this pergola... We love it and the company!

Looks good, easy to put together

Overall we are pleased with this product. One design deficiency is the covering that protects the canopy when retracted. It does a good job of protecting the canopy but it sags between the supports and collects rainwater. Over time I believe it will sag more and may eventually fail, even though I periodically use a broom to push up on it to force the water off.

We needed some extra shade in our back yard, and bought this one because it was affordable and had good reviews. The boxes came and we unpacked all the pieces. Unfortunately, some pieces were bent and scratched up. We managed to bend the pieces and get it all together. It look a long time to assemble this, so make sure you have a couple days to get it done. The manufacturer was very nice about giving us a discounted price because of the damaged pieces. It made it worth it in the end, because it’s not 100% perfect looking, but it works fine and does the job.I think they should definitely upgrade the packaging it comes delivered in so it’s not damaged in transit. But 5 stars for this company making it right in the end.

Like everyone says you need at minimum 2 people to put together. Wasn't super hard to put together but it did take a few hours, maybe 4-5. I'm glad I purchased it, and at this size (10'x12'). If I were to do it again I may even consider getting a bigger one to fit a bigger patio set with side table, but this one fits my day to day so its perfect.

All in all, I think this is a fabulous value product backed by an incredible company which genuinely values their customers and will go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction. We purchased this almost two months ago. The picture book instructions left quite a bit to be desired, however, the customer service exceeded all reasonable expectations for the most optimistic customers. We spent 14 (possibly more) hours putting it together, correcting mistakes repeatedly. This was with 2 intermediate level DIY adults, plus an occasional assist from our engineering minded, college age son. Exhausted, we were ready for the last piece - the cover that protects the canopy when closed (and the reason we settled on this model) but were disappointed to find it had a couple small holes. We have no idea if the holes were a defect or if damage happened while moving things around for the multiple assembly corrections. Regardless, we emailed support truthfully explaining we were not sure if the holes were a defect or happened during assembly. They responded within hours asking for photos of the hole and were kind enough to provide a replacement. Not only that, they kept us apprised of the shipping status and checked in after delivery. The canopy opens and closes easily and provides shelter from a light drizzle off when open. It won't help a lot during a downpour, but it is not marketed to protect from rain so we are very pleased with the quality. I shared two recommendations customer support is to A) include words in the instruction booklet and/or B) upload an assembly video. Additionally, a third would be two more straps to keep it more securely closed during windy rainstorms -- the one in the middle does not quite do it. We expect this to last for several summers, and possibly beyond several summers, if the company sells or we can find a canopy replacement when needed.

You need 3 people to assemble. We poured concrete in the posts to make more sturdy. We are in a wind prone area. So far it's held up great
