    Better than I was expecting

I purchase this as an alternative to one I currently have which I can not get repaired by the manufacture, due to low technicians available and delay of parts, according to Segway. I was hesitant in purchasing another of the same model and brand. To my surprise, The manufacture obviously have made some upgrades to the model. Added reflectors, larger standing platform, and raised handlebar. Plus the slightly larger tires makes the ride so much smoother. I really like this upgraded model. I've not had the opportunity to ride it enough to unlock the speed control, but what I've experienced thus far is fantastic. I'm hoping this unit out last the two years my other unit gave me.

    It is a good scooter

I highly recommend to buy something with suspension. If it was possible I changed it.

Near max weight no issues, lots of zip!

I weigh 210, road home from supermarket with a full large rucksack, got on scale with itupon return. Total load was 239 lbs!Hit sport mode at base of a bridge I needed to cross (Albany ave Drawbridge Atlantic City, NJ) and it powered me right up.I use eco mode most often to conserve battery, as I am placing a strain on it.Loving it so far. nabbed it on sale for $424.00 so would be hard pressed to complain in any event!

    Good

The scooter is sturdy and feels safe. The speed caps out at 12mph which unfortunately feels so slow. I personally wanted something that wouldn’t go too fast since I live in nyc and the roads aren’t the best, but I think at least 15mph would be better. 12mph almost feels painfully slow at times

Great quality - 700 watt power is imaginary, it's a 300 watt ride.

Just a few miles in from unboxing a brand new E45 - so these first impressions may be edited later. I expected good quality materials and construction from Segway and they didn't let me down, it's a beautiful scooter. The biggest disappointment after only a few miles is the hill climbing power - I'm nowhere near the 220 pound max weight but I have to help this scooter up a hill of less than 10 degrees with my foot, exactly the same as with my Hiboy S2 (350 watt) so I don't know where they are coming up with a 700 watt max power claim - I wish Segway would just put a 1000-1200 watt motor on it and get the job done. On the positive side, the tires are wonderful - they look and feel like regular solid rubber tires, but the ride is much smoother. The handlebars are a decent height above the deck which also makes for a better ride for the 6 foot+ people. The brakes are effective, but they take a little getting used to - it seems that regenerative braking happens first, but as you press the brake lever all the way down the "magnetic" brake kicks in and really slows you down. There is the unmistakable grinding sounds of friction materials being used, so I'm doubtful that purely magnetic principles are involved, maybe it's just magnetically engaged brake pads - and I wonder what materials might be eventually wearing out down there. It folds easily and will be fine to carry on a bus or train even if the external battery makes it more awkward to get a grip near the balance point. Cruise control - something I turn on and off with the power button on my Hiboy - seems to ONLY be available through the app, so you need a smartphone to fully use the scooter. That bothers me just on principle. Switching between the 3 riding modes can be done with the power button, so that's nice. Lights, reflectors, etc are all very adequate for a scooter if you really need to ride the streets at night - you can see and be seen. So far, so good - the cost is justified to some extent.
